Nissin Lámen

Shrimp is back!

For two years, Nissin stopped producing its popular shrimp-flavored ramen. Every day since then, fans have been asking for its return. Until one day, Nissin released a teaser, featuring a mystery celebrity talking to a talent agent about a comeback. And fans went crazy.

Everyone was betting it was the Shrimp. But there were other surprises. The commercial took consumers through the process of choosing our big star’s new partner, among other Nissin characters, meme celebs and a garden gnome.

Cup Noodles

Smoked Commercial

During the first months of the pandemic, filming wasn’t possible. To launch the new Cup Noodles Smoked Beef, we hacked an old Cup Noodles Seafood commercial. With the exact same scenes, we created a new story around the new flavour. Our star is Joel Santana, a famous Brazilian soccer coach, known for his funny way of speaking English. He dubbed himself in the new version.

The original film plays with the word “seafood,” which sounds like the Portuguese word for “f *** you.” Joel explains that soccer players don’t swear. They’re just asking for Cup Noodles Seafood.

In the new Smoked Beef version, every time Joel says "smoke" or "smoked" people understood him to say "smoking," which in Brazilian Portuguese is the word for "tuxedo." Complicated? It does make sense in Portuguese!

Fans and influencers had fun analyzing the differences between the two versions, scene by scene.
